Patricia McAndrews, LPC CAADC
Clinical Director
Patti Anne started the Rehab After School program in 1986. She then founded Adolescent and Young Adult Advocates in 2005 to meet the overwhelming need for adolescent care and expanded to include young adults in 2006. Patti Anne has extensive training in many different areas of the field and is certified in Addiction, Mental Health and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD). She has trained many young professionals including CHOP (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia fellows and interns from Bryn Mawr College, University of Pennsylvania, Villanova University, and Rosemont College. She has also been featured in the multi-media training publication, “Reaching Teen” published by the American Pediatric Association. Of her many jobs and accomplishments Patti Anne finds herself most at home with a room full of teenagers and a staff of intelligent eager minds.

Taylor Phillips, MS, NCC
Lead Therapist
In 2020 Taylor earned her Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Villanova University. She started as an intern at Adolescent and Young Adult Advocates in 2019 and has worked her way up to her current position as lead therapist. She currently works with individual clients and runs groups as well. Taylor has experience working with clients who suffer from mental health issues as well as clients struggling with drug use and addiction. She enjoys connecting with clients and assisting them in their personal recovery journey.

Bridget Ward
Office Manager
Bridget is our office manager here at Adolescent and Young Adult Advocates. After graduating high school, she started volunteering as a peer counselor at A2 and then went to work in the treatment industry. After working at Recovery Centers of America at Devon for a year, she decided to return to Adolescent Advocates and officially join our team. Bridget is passionate about supporting young people in their recovery journey. Bridget received the Community Youth Leadership award from Caron Treatment Centers in 2022.

Lauren Marino, MS
Therapist
Lauren completed her Master’s of Arts in counseling psychology with a concentration in trauma and addiction. She has worked for SOAR recovery center for addiction since 2015 and is presently the Program Director. Lauren also is an adjunct professor of psychology at Widener University since 2018. Lauren has extensive experience within the field of psychology and addiction. She is passionate about helping others find their own path. Lauren came to A2 because she found it refreshing to work with teens and young adults during such a pivotal time in their development. She is in the process of Pursuing her CAADC and LPC in order to continue growing within the field of Psychology and Clinical Counseling.

Anne Dame, CRS
Family Support Coach
Anne is a Certified Professional Recovery Specialist with a passion for helping individuals and families stepping onto the path of recovery. After 15 years in the radio broadcasting industry, Anne chose to pursue a lifelong goal of helping those recovering from addiction or navigating obstacles in life. Over the last 8 years Anne has achieved certifications in Life and Recovery coaching as well as her 200 hour yoga teacher certification. Anne draws strength and knowledge from her individual journey of recovery and recovery within the family system. She applies a holistic, compassionate approach with her clients, respectfully meeting them where they are in their healing process.

Matthew Shure, BA
Therapist
Matthew started as a counselor at Adolescent and Young Adult Advocates in December of 2021. Prior to his time at A2, Matthew worked at an after-school program in Rockville, Maryland where he supervised elementary school children while creating lessons and activities for them. Matthew can relate to the clients at A2 having had similar experiences throughout college. These experiences allow him to connect with the young adults and teens here and help them navigate their own unique situations. Matthew has found that his passion is working with teens and young adults through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. He works to identify thought and behavior patterns while exploring options to replace negative habits with healthier habits. He enjoys helping clients on their journey toward recovery.

John Winkler, BA
Therapist Intern
John is a graduate student of Rosemont College’s counseling psychology program completing his clinical internship Adolescent and Young Adult Advocates. John’s counseling identity is based on the existential humanistic approaches. John works with his clients to develop a trusting and empowering relationship based on empathy, congruency, and unconditional positive regard. He believes that along with doing “the work”, building a community of support is essential to sustain recovery. John is currently a co-therapist in our parent support group.

Amy Barrett, BS
Therapist Intern
Amy studied Psychology and Counseling as an undergraduate student at Villanova University. She is currently pursuing her second year of the Master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Villanova. Amy has held positions in the field at SpeakUp!, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and Bryn Mawr Hospital. She looks forward to connecting with the clients and their families at Adolescent Advocates in both individual and group therapy sessions.

Andrew is a second-year graduate student at Bryn Mawr College, where he is pursuing his Masters in Social Work degree. Prior to joining A2, he interned at Thomas High School in Philadelphia, where he supported students and their families through a combination of individual and group counseling and advocacy. In his work with clients, he draws from his own personal experiences while utilizing a strengths-based, person-centered approach. He is passionate about connecting with young people and supporting them on their road to recovery and improved mental well-being.
